Losing your marker PLUS fun all-round fitness session!

This week we've got two sessions for you for the price of the one! One working on movement and the second on fitness - Read on to learn more!

Movement Skills - Making Space to receive the Pass

Losing your opposition in netball is essential. Once a player on your team has the ball in hand they're restricted to pivoting or taking one step before passing the ball on again - therefore it's imperative that before your players receive the ball they've created enough space in which they can work - be that opening up space for others, finding another player to pass to or shooting on goal!

To get your players making intelligent runs we start this session with a fun warm up of Raiders, the cone collecting game, before then getting down to business - working on the give and go, making driving runs that show a clear change of direction to lose any potential man-markers.

Bonus Session: Fun All Round Fitness Session

This week we mix things up and work on a variety of fitness systems to get your players working up a sweat and pushing themselves a little but harder than they might usually by getting them to work competitively in teams.

As a taster here's some of the fun and tiring exercises in this session:

• Fundurance - Fartlek endurance training drill with a fun Sportplan shooting twist
• Flexibility - A spider race on all fours followed by a crab running relay (a great ice-breaker, for players young and old)!
• Plyometrics - An energy-sapping jumping exercise
• Speed
- A square running drill where players must face forwards at all times (working on side-stepping and running backwards!
